Ships Passing in the Night

February 24, 2011

The next week is going to be a strange one for me.  Due to a combination of crazy schedules — including a business trip that was not scheduled until yesterday — I won’t be seeing much of my family over the next week and I won’t see my wife at all.

Beth leaves this afternoon to go visit her mother and sister out in the greater Chicago area.  I will leave tomorrow morning to take my son, Paul, to a Tae Kwon Do tournament in Watertown, South Dakota.  I will come home on Saturday and then spend Sunday with the kids.  Beth comes home from Chicago on Monday, but before she gets back I will hop on a plane headed for Tampa, Florida.  Due to a family emergency for my co-worker Randy, he is unable to present at a conference in Tampa and I am stepping in to take his place.

I am happy to step up for Randy, but this will be a long and sometimes lonely week.

Turtles don’t always want to be alone.
